Who is the captive?

I started painting this one about a month ago. The bird is based on a sparrow. Painter and Photoshop. 2600 x 2000 px

Oh I love that! You should try illustrating children's books, I would buy them for sure!
I love the combination of bright colours in big "patches" and all the detailing of he feathers and grass... it works very well.

I agree, this would look fabulous as a childrens illustration.
I know as a kid, I love pictures that made me want to know.... whats that
creature? Whats going on? Are they friends? And i would then want to read the book. ;)

You sure make me want to write an in-depth story for this painting =P . What I had in mind originally was the girl being held captive by this sparrow, but the bird itself was actually the captive, being captivated by the girl, almost in a Kong-ish way.
